Castlemaine outdoor swimming pool

There are four Council owned outdoor swimming pools within Mount Alexander Shire. These are located in Castlemaine, Harcourt, Maldon and Newstead.
The seasonal pools are open from December to March each year. Each has qualified lifeguards on duty during opening hours.
Opening times depend on weather conditions. Entry fees apply.

Weather information

Pools will not open if:

• The forecast temperature for the day is below 22 C at 6.00 pm on the day prior.
• The temperature of the day is below 22 C
• Storm activity in the area

Pools may remain open after standing opening times if:

• The temperature remains above 28 C and patrons are still using the pool
• Closing time will be no later than sunset
