Film Making in the Mount Alexander Shire
The Mount Alexander Shire Council, along with several other rural Councils, has partnered with Film Victoria to provide the website ‘Film Central Victoria’ to assist film makers in the production of their next film project.
A key component of this service is assistance in finding suitable locations. A high-profile example was the production of the feature film Romulus, My Father which was filmed in the Shire, with Council providing advice and support to the production team over a range of areas.
With film, television, advertising productions and student films being shot in the Shire, the region is experienced in dealing with production companies of all sizes. The Shire’s film policy is in place to provide guidelines and facilitate production without unnecessary delays. Please refer to the policy in order to ensure filming applications are able to be processed as soon as possible. The application form can be found at the back of the policy. Please submit your application to the Film Liaison Officer, on the details below, by email.
Mount Alexander Shire Council and Film Central Victoria welcomes enquiries from filmmakers who are interested in choosing the region for their next location. If you have any questions or would like to discuss filming in any of our towns, buildings or locations, please contact Council’s Film Liaison Officer, Claire Baker, on 03 5471 1727 or [email protected]
